My students are learning Hebrew blessings, and the majority of them attend Hebrew School in preparation for the Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Unfortunately, we spend most of our time on reading and chanting the Hebrew correctly. Very little emphasis is placed on the meanings of the brachot.
I'm not sure any of the students are learning Hebrew because it's important for them as Jews.
